Low Carb, Creamy & Yummy Avocado Smoothie!

Avocado is probably one of my favorite fruits, it's full of nutrients and it's definitely one of the superfoods that's worth given a title. It contains good fats, cholesterol-free and a very small amount of carbs so it's perfect for a free-guilt snack!

Did you know 100 grams of an avocado has more calories than 100 grams of an apple? This is based on the Nutrition facts; 160 calories per 100 grams of avocado vs. 52 calories per 100 grams of apple.

Of course, they're both healthy fruits but personally, I would eat more avocados instead of apples if am on a low-carb diet. The calories on the avocado consist more fibers and saturated fats thus apples are naturally sweet because of the natural sugar.

For this recipe, am adding a small amount of soy milk, so it has fewer carbs but has a lot of protein. If you are going to buy soy milk, it's best to choose one that doesn't have any sugar added since we're aiming for a low carb smoothie!

Make sure you pick the ripe avocados.

How to know if an avocado is already ripe:

Remove the nob on top of the avocado, if the flesh looks green then it's ripe but if the flesh is looking brown or yellow then it isn't ripe yet.

Ingredients:

3 avocados
1 cup ice
1/2 cup soy milk

Instructions:

Blend everything until completely smooth.
Serve and enjoy!

Notes:
You can always double the recipe for more servings.
If the texture is way too thick you can always add a little bit of water.

See? That's all you need, three ingredients! Sometimes less is more.
